Internet poker has become world acclaimed lately, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back quite a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years many types on the earliest poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling vingt-et-un than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the casino instead of the other players. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is little conniving or different types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up just before the dealer declares "No further wagers." At that moment, both you and the house and of course every one of the other gamblers acquire 5 cards. After you have looked at your hand and the casino’s first card, you must in turn make a call bet or give up. The call wager’s value is equal to your original bet, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your wager goes instantaneously to the house. After the wager comes the showdown. If the bank does not have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, with a sum on par with the initial wager. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand defeats the casino’s hand. The house pony’s up chips even with your initial bet and set expectations on your call wager. These odds are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- three to one for three of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
