Net Big Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?

June 2nd, 2022 by Zane Leave a reply »

Gus Hansen had an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to make it to the last table in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the largest pots in high stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Gus secured a big pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the strongest players in the world. While playing net poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. He frequently participates in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus more often than not buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He waits patiently for a good hand and then goes all-in. I know Hansen is a great poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is bankrupt, he has no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy in.

Playing for the minimum takes most of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Hansen is assumed to be one of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy-in for the full amt.. I think tv can skew our view of the real world at times. The best players anywhere in the world could be players you have will not have heard of. Gus can be found gambling on internet poker on Full Tilt. He generally competes in high stakes omaha eight-or-better and texas holdem. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his talents in cash games?
