Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the normal 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The gambler is dealt 7 cards faces showing and the casino is given 7 cards face down.
A five card hand and a 2 card hand need to be put together from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand has to be stronger than the two card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be larger than the casino’s.
