Internet poker has become world acclaimed lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years many variations on the earliest poker game have been developed, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with twenty-one than long-standing poker, in that the players wager against the bank rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no concealment or different types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up before the dealer announcing "No more bets." At that moment, both you and the bank and of course all of the different players receive five cards. Once you have looked at your hand and the dealer’s initial card, you have to either make a call wager or accede. The call wager’s value is akin to your original bet, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your wager goes immediately to the dealer. After the bet comes the face off. If the house does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, plus a figure in accordance with the initial bet. If the house does have ace/king or greater, you win if your hand is greater than the casino’s hand. The house pays out money equal to your ante and controlled odds on your call bet. These odds are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- three to one for 3 of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a four of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
