Have you viewed the new PokerPro hold’em poker tables? The first time I saw the PokerPro tables was about three weeks ago when I took a brief vacation with my mom to the WinStar Betting house in Oklahoma.

As I waited for my name to be called at the live tables, I observed how the other folks at the PokerPro tables interface with one another. It was fairly intriguing to say the very least. Because the poker table was controlled by a computer, there were no clay poker chips to do any chip tricks, no cards to shuffle and the actual live experience was boring. Perhaps I was the only one that discovered this, but I did observe the players at the table had a lifeless high quality to them. The reason behind this might be because there was no human discussion with the dealer, the atmosphere was relatively boring and the players looked uninterested. It was almost as if I was viewing a live variation of an online texas hold em poker room instead of being seated with hot blooded humans. It was a little bit freaky and I kept flashing back to an episode of ST:TNG and the holodeck broke down.

Since the waiting time for the stay tables was over an hour, I made a decision to see how the casino game action was and to encounter this new holdem poker gaming technology. Following betting a few hands, I genuinely felt like I was playing at home. The lack of activity at the table was the primary reason. I prefer to shuffle my chips, stack my chips, and mix my cards about. None of those items are possible at these digital tables.

Another thing I noticed was how the program dealt the flop, turn and river cards. I wagered a great deal of hands at the PokerPro table and noticed that the bet on was a lot like an internet based texas hold’em poker site. That could have been just a coincidence, except I discovered it to become quite odd.

Following betting a couple of rounds with this "new hold em poker technology", I made a decision that the PokerPro tables have been not for me. I’m much better off playing hold em poker online at house and not travel the distance. If WinStar Betting house have been to obtain rid of the live poker tables, I think they would shed a whole lot of players.
